This is one of my 2 favorite Vietnamese restaurants. And, today I felt like venturing off the beaten path. I was looking for a Pho or Vermicelli Noodle alternative. I asked my server what he would eat and he said Bun Bo Hue or Bun Cari Ga, the latter being chicken curry stew.  Since I had the Bun Bo Hue the last time I was here, I ordered Gun Cari Ga with the Vermicelli Noodles for my carb versus the Banh Mi.

When my stew arrived, I tried the broth and it was not spicy curry, but aromatic, savory, silky, bursting with flavors. By no means can you compare this to the Pho broth. They are not the same. This chicken curry broth was like nothing I have ever had before. It was one of the best flavor sensations I can remember. It was so rich and silky. I cannot put it into words. You have got to try this stew.

Big chunks of chicken were literally falling off of the bone delicious. You may find occasion to set your chop sticks aside and use your fingers to really enjoy the chicken, just like people in many other Asian countries would do when eating it. But, it is well worth it.

Even the Tra Da, iced tea, was gorgeous with thinly sliced limes and lots of ice. It was also terrific.  And, it was only $1.00. Where are you going to get any drink in a restaurant for $1.00?

The grand total with tax was $10.24 and I was full. The stew was full of awesome Vermicelli Noodles.

So, if you are inland on Oceanside Boulevard, try Pho Kitchen if you haven't already.

Pho kitchen is in a plaza surrounded by numerous food options. They're also opening up a 88 ranch (asian super market) in the plaza. My first impressions of pho kitchen was that it was super clean and nice looking. Their menu have many options from pho to rice dishes. The water that they gave us was cucumber lime infused water which was a nice touch.

I ordered the filet mignon pho. The dish came with a plate of bean sprouts, lime, and basil which you can just add in.  As a note the filet mignon comes raw and cooks in the hot soup. The soup was very delicious and flavorful. It was also surprisingly light. The filet mignon was tender and soft. Definitely a great dish. The broth was pretty flavorful that I didn't need to add any other sauces such as hoisin.

My coworkers ordered rice dishes and those also looked delicious as well. I'll definitely be back to try the rice dishes as pho kitchen is a great spot!

Man I just keep finding better and better pho. I can't make up my mind with these north county pho places. PK is the latest of my pho quest in north county and it doesn't disappoint. The best way to describe it is clean and fancy. The broth is delicately balanced and not too light, all while preserving that bold deep flavor. All the meats were probably damn near the best quality of all the recent places of I've been up here. Either way, I was really impressed and will definitely be back for more of this crafty pho. Great prices too!!!

    Authentic flavor
    Generous servings
    High quality meats
Reasonably priced for a "fancy" pho joint

We used to come here 2-3 times a week on my daughter's insistence. We have now had several bad experiences in a row. At this point it would be naive to hope that it will go well the next time. Good thing there are so many other pho restaurants.

Just another good review to add to their long list. This place is SOOOOO great! I highly recommend anyone that wants pho or is looking for a new spot to try this place out. We come from Orange County and there's a lot of pho places over there that make you lose your appetite as soon as you walk in. Eek . But this place as soon as you enter you are greeted by a clean atmosphere and friendly ass servers ! We went in the morning and it was two young men. They were so attentive and didn't rush us at all even when it started getting super busy. Always checking up and making us feel comfortable. The food looks and tastes super boujee for the price. It's such good quality and flavor I was honestly surprised . We will be returning here . Try this place ! It's worth it (:
